Why I Finally Wrote the Book: Behind the Scenes of Becoming an Author

Love is conspiring on our behalf all the time, and our whole job is to meet it at the intersection. This week the show turns behind the scenes, so that you can see what it is like from my side to be a psychic, a medium, and now an author. The upcoming book, How the Dream Comes True: A Psychic’s Guide to Getting What You’ve Always Wanted, is complete, proofread, and in the hands of the cover designer, and it publishes this November. It tells the story of my years in the psychic world and my decades of failing to find true love, until I hit upon a practical system that kept my attention pointed at the dream, and that system works for any dream. The dream doesn’t need more faith. It needs a plan. I share what held me back from publishing for so long, including my frustration as an English major and literature teacher with stories that dwell on pain, and my longing to write stories that show love continuing to show up for us. I talk about why writing fiction feels like channeling to me while this nonfiction book asked me to dig deeper than ever, and why I chose to share these stories while I am here to share them.
